After the acquisition by Meta Platforms, Inc. (META.US) was called off, Manus issued an announcement on its official website yesterday, declaring that it has officially resumed independent operations with immediate effect.
The founding team will continue to lead the company and remain firmly committed to product innovation while advancing the development of general AI agents for users worldwide.
Going forward, the company will continue expanding the capability boundaries of general AI agents, transforming new capabilities into products to help users tackle complex tasks and achieve more in daily life and work.
Earlier market reports indicated that TENCENT (00700.HK), together with HongShan and ZhenFund, planned to repurchase Manus shares from Meta. The total consideration was expected to be broadly similar to the amount paid by Meta, at about USD2 billion.
In addition, according to Caixin, TENCENT acquired the Manus stake held by U.S. venture capital firm Benchmark, replacing it as Manus' largest shareholder.
