AI startup, Anthropic, has an internal plan to secure up to 10 gigawatts (GW) of computing power, The Information quoted sources as saying.

This move will will bring it on par with rival Amazon.com (AMZN.US)'s Amazon Web Services (AWS) and surpass OpenAI's currently disclosed capacity agreements, sources said.

To advance its plans, Anthropic has recruited veteran data center talent, including former Google executive Brett Rogers and Tim Hughes of Stack Infrastructure.

Achieving the 10 GW target will require an investment of hundreds of billions of USD, far exceeding Anthropic's estimated server expenditure of US$18 billion by 2029, the report added.
