Alphabet Plans to Issue 100-yr Ultra-long-term Bonds, 1st for Tech Firm in 2+ Decades
10 Feb 2026 02:12
Alphabet (GOOG.US) planned to sell an extremely rare 100-year bond, marking the first issuance of such ultra-long-term debt by a tech company since the late 1990s.

Based on data compiled by Bloomberg, the last issuance of 100-year bonds by a tech firm was in 1997 when Motorola sold similar type of debt. Currently, the 100-year bond market is primarily dominated by governments and institutions such as universities.
