US stocks advanced amid struggles Thursday. The DJIA closed up 117 points or nearly 0.3% at 42,215; the Nasdaq's gains ebbed, closing up 74 points or 0.4% at 19,175; and the S&P 500 closed up 23 points or 0.4% at 5,912.

NVIDIA (NVDA.US) beat forecast in its 1FQ revenue and earnings, with data center revenue surging by 73%, and its stock price ultimately rallied 3.2%.

Upswing in techs eased, with Tesla (TSLA.US), Meta (META.US), and Amazon (AMZN.US) up less than 1%, and Apple (AAPL.US) down 0.2%.
