OpenAI is discussing a guarantee arrangement of up to USD250 billion with NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US) to support its plan to lease large artificial intelligence data centers (AIDCs). CNBC confirmed the report.

The guarantee will allow OpenAI to leverage NVIDIA's credit strength to raise debt financing for a 10-gigawatt data center campus in Pike County, Ohio, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The guarantee will cover leasing and construction debt, but will not include NVIDIA chips used at the campus, with related chip arrangements still under separate discussions between the two parties.

NVIDIA declined to comment. The Wall Street Journal first reported the USD250 billion guarantee negotiations.
