The First Department of Equipment Industry of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Traffic Control Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, and the Transport Services Department of the Ministry of Transport (MOT) jointly convened a meeting yesterday (14th) on road testing and demonstration applications of intelligent connected vehicles (ICVs) and the deployment of self-inspection and rectification measures, strengthening safety supervision.

The meeting emphasized the need to coordinate development and safety, and to conduct road testing and demonstration applications of ICVs in a prudent and orderly manner.

All local authorities should conduct comprehensive self-inspections and assessments in light of recent safety incidents, identify and analyze key issues, and earnestly put in the effort to rectification work.

Meanwhile, the authorities should refine relevant management policies, strengthen safety oversight throughout the entire process, and ensure that testing and demonstration activities are carried out safely and in an orderly manner.
