IDC: 3Q Global Smartphone Shipments Grow by 2.6%; Apple Shipments Hit Historical New High
Global smartphone shipments increased by 2.6% to 322.7 million units in 3Q25, driven by strong demand for high-end and AI-supported devices, according to preliminary data from IDC.
During the quarter, Apple (AAPL.US)'s shipments grew nearly 3% to 58.6 million units, setting a new all-time high, while Samsung maintained its global leading position with shipment volume of 61.4 million units.
IDC expressed optimism for the remainder of the year, believing that promotional activities, AI feature improvements and ongoing device innovation will lead to strong sales by year-end.
