TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo cited the latest industry survey indicating a nosedive of 20% in the total shipment forecast for the Xiaomi 17 series (originally targeted at around 10 million units). Without more aggressive pricing strategies or marketing campaigns, the total shipment of this series might fall below the around 8 million units recorded by the Xiaomi 15 series.

The primary reason for the downward revision was the underperformance of the Xiaomi 17 standard version. Initially expected to make up about 50-55% of the entire series' shipments on the strongest demand, it turned out to account for only about 15-20% after hitting the shelves.

If the sales situation of the Xiaomi 17 series doesn't improve further during the National Day holiday, Kuo believes lowering the prices of specific models will be an option to boost the total shipments of high-end models.
