Nasdaq Ends Up 247 Pts to New High; DJIA On 8D Fall; Nvidia Sinks ~2%

The Nasdaq logged a new high again on Monday prior to the Federal Reserve's interest rate meeting this week. Peaking at 20,204, it closed at 20,173, a new closing high, up 247 pts or 1.2%. The DJIA ebbed 110 pts or 0.3% to 43,717, marking the eighth consecutive day of decline, notching the longest downtrend since 2018. The S&P 500 closed 22 pts or 0.4% higher at 6,074.

Nvidia (NVDA.US), a popular stock for AI chips, has slid about 12% from last month's closing high, officially entering a trajectory of adjustment. The stock fell 1.7% against the market on Monday. Broadcom (AVGO.US) surged 11% to a record high. Other techs also ascended, with Tesla (TSLA.US) up 6%, Alphabet (GOOG.US) up more than 3%, and Apple (AAPL.US) up more than 1%, all three hitting record highs.
